Saint Mary’s Hospital Foundation Names Co-Chairs for 25th Annual Gala: “An Evening of Extraordinary Things”

WATERBURY, Conn. (January 15, 2016)–Saint Mary’s Hospital Foundation will host its 25th Annual Gala, “An Evening of Extraordinary Things,” on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville. This year’s event features an elegant dinner, dancing, an Extraordinary Jewelry raffle and Signature Basket raffle, as well as Saint Mary’s legendary live and silent auctions.

The grand prize in the Extraordinary Jewelry raffle is the winner’s choice of a pair of spectacular diamond stud earrings, three carat total weight, set in classic white gold settings, or a $25,000 gift certificate toward the purchase of one custom piece, including a private shopping and design experience, generously donated by Onyx II Fine Jewelers of Watertown.

The co-chairs of Gala 2016 are Attorney Robert J. and Peg Anthony of Cheshire and Gregory and Mauria Jacobi of Woodbury.

Robert J. Anthony is General Counsel to Saint Mary’s Health System and a Partner and Chair of the Health Law Department at Brown Rudnick, an international law firm. Anthony holds a Master of Public Health degree from Yale University and is a graduate of The University of Connecticut School of Law. He and his firm have provided legal services to Saint Mary’s and have been supporters of the Gala for more than 20 years.

Peg Anthony holds a master’s degree in elementary education from the University of Connecticut and worked as an elementary school teacher before dedicating herself full time to their family. Peg volunteers for numerous community organizations. She is a board member of the Cheshire Half Marathon Foundation and an Advisory Board Member for Best Buddies Connecticut, organizations that are dedicated to helping children and adults with disabilities.

Gregory and Mauria Jacobi have called the Waterbury area home since childhood. They continue to live, work and raise their three children here. Gregory Jacobi is Senior Vice President of Distribution and Customer Experience for Webster Bank. He serves as a board member of the United Way of Greater Waterbury, Middlebury Land Trust and Mattatuck Museum and chairs the museum’s Investment Committee. He is a founding member of the United Way of Greater Waterbury Emerging Leaders, a group of young professionals under 40 who aspire to make our community better through philanthropy, volunteerism and advocacy.

Mauria Jacobi is works as a physical therapist in the community. She is a member of the Saint Mary’s Hospital Foundation Gala Committee and has served as co-chair of the evening reception for Saint Mary’s annual Dorothy Hamill Women Fore Women Golf Tournament. She has served as a member of the event committee for the Mattatuck Museum’s annual Summer Fling since its inception
