The Dental Health Center at Saint Mary's Hospital responds to the dental needs of approximately 6,000 patients annually, from newborns to seniors. Our staff is experienced in every phase of dentistry, from routine screening, prevention and treatment to the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Care is provided regardless of income status. However, a minimum fee applies and payment is expected on the day of service

In addition to our board-certified specialists, the center is staffed by a team of four residents who are enrolled in a one-year General Practice Residency Program. The program has been fully accredited by the American Dental Association since 1951 and is operated in collaboration with the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and the oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at the Hospital of Saint Raphael in Bridgeport. It is the only general dentistry residency program offered in Greater Waterbury, and one of only five in Connecticut.

Upon completion of the program, some residents have continued on to specialized training programs across the country and over the years, many have chosen to establish private practices in Connecticut, some right here in Waterbury.

The Dental Health Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Emergency care is available Monday through Thursday mornings on a first-come, first-served basis.
