Incorporated in 1996 as a subsidiary of Saint Mary’s Health System, Franklin Medical Group is a multi-specialty practice with a staff of 54 physicians and surgeons, 22 physician assistants and 14 APRNs. Our Mission is to improve the healthcare status of our patients and contribute to the achievement of healthy communities.

Our skilled and experienced physicians and surgeons support the needs of a diverse array of Saint Mary’s Hospital programs, providing medical, surgical and dental care for patients as well as teaching oversight and guidance for Saint Mary’s medical and surgical residency programs.

Patient services are provided through the Children’s and Family Health Center, Saint Mary’s Dental Health Center, Franklin Surgical Suite, the Breast Center in Southbury and additional offices conveniently located throughout Greater Waterbury. In addition, Franklin Medical Group provides staff for Saint Mary’s Health and Wellness Centers in Naugatuck and Wolcott, which offer convenient evening and weekend hours for non-urgent, walk-in medical care.

Franklin Medical Group (FMG) continues to provide multi-specialty services within the local service area to fully meet the needs of the Saint Mary’s Health System and its strategic objectives.    FMG provides Saint Mary’s Health System with a broad array of high quality,  low cost, multi-specialty care for the Greater Waterbury patient community.  FMG also provides academic clinical educators of the highest qualification possible to support the hospital’s commitment to medical, surgical and dentistry educational programs.  In addition, FMG’s and its administered hospital-based programs, will continue to attempt to meet the constantly developing strategic direction of the Health System.

FMG fully integrates the Vision of Saint Mary’s Health System through its own Vision to become the area’s premier multi-specialty medical group.  Achievement of the above initiatives will benefit both FMG and the Health System as a whole.
