Carlos Almeida, MD, joined Greater Waterbury Primary Care Associates (now Primary Care Partners PC) in 2005.
Dr. Almeida holds a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular and cell biology and a master’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Connecticut. He received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine from the Yale University Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program at Saint Mary’s Hospital. He also is fluent in Portuguese. |

Alexander J. Alvarez, MD, co-founded the practice of Greater Waterbury Primary Care Associates (now Primary Care Partners PC) in 1991 as Chief Medical Officer, President and Senior Partner/Owner.
Dr. Alvarez holds bachelor’s degrees in modern languages and psychology from Central Connecticut State University, where he also completed the Master’s Degree Education Program.
He received his medical degree from the Universidad Tecnologica de Santiago, and completed his internship and residency in general surgery and as well as his internship and residency in internal medicine at Saint Mary’s Hospital.
He also received a degree in foreign language studies from the Universidad de Malaga in Spain. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese and speaks some Italian.
Board-certified in internal medicine, he was previously in practice in Wolcott with Associates in Internal Medicine. Dr. Alvarez has been a clinical instructor in the Yale University School of Medicine Primary Care Program since 1995. He has been a member of the medical staff at Saint Mary’s Hospital since 1990. |

Dennis King, MD, joined Greater Waterbury Primary Care Associates (now Primary Care Partners PC) in 1991 as an internist and partner.
Dr. King holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Providence College. He received his medical degree from the Universidad del Noreste School of Medicine in Mexico. He completed his surgical residency as well as the internal medicine residency program at Saint Mary’s Hospital.
Board certified in internal medicine, he was previously in practice in Wolcott with Associates in Internal Medicine and in Waterbury with Westside Medical Group, as well as at the Joseph Center at St. Mary’s Hospital, which provides alcohol and drug abuse treatment.
In 1987, Dr. King was honored with the AMA Physicians Recognition Award for Continuing Medical Education. |

Marie LiVigni, DO, joined Primary Care Partners in 2009.
Dr. LiVigni holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Fairfield University. She graduated from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. LiVigni was previously in practice at The Griffin Hospital in Derby, with Phoenix Internal Medicine Associates in Waterbury, and at the Medical Center of Northeast Connecticut in Dayville. |

John Testa, MD, joined Greater Waterbury Primary Care Associates (now Primary Care Partners PC) in 2002.
Dr. Testa holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Quinnipiac College and received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, Dominica, West Indies. He completed a primary care and internal medicine residency at the University of Connecticut.
Board certified in internal medicine, he previously worked for the state Department of Mental Retardation, and as an Emergency Medical Technician for Campion Ambulance. He is an assistant clinical professor of medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and a clinical instructor of medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. |

James Uberti, MD, joined Greater Waterbury Primary Care Associates (now Primary Care Partners PC) in 1991 as an internist and partner.
Dr. Uberti holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Fairfield University. He received a Master’s in Public Health from Yale University School of Epidemiology and Public Health and his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Saint Mary’s Hospital.
Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Uberti was previously in practice with Associates in Internal Medicine in Waterbury. He is an assistant clinical professor of medicine at Yale University School of Medicine and chairman of the Quality Coordinating Council at Saint Mary’s Hospital. |

Terri Dvorkin, BS, MSN, APRN, joined Greater Waterbury Primary Care Associates (now Primary Care Partners PC) in 1997 as a primary care nurse provider.
Ms. Dvorkin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the State University of New York at Binghamton, a Master of Science in nursing from Ohio State University College of Nursing and completed the Post Masters Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification Program at the University of Connecticut at Storrs.
She was previously director of Women’s and Children’s Services at Danbury Hospital. |
