The Imaging Services Department at Saint Mary’s Hospital provides both inpatient and outpatient services including Bone Density, CAT Scan, general Radiography, Interventional Radiology, Digital Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound.

We are committed to delivering excellent health care services as evidenced by providing our patients and referring Physicians with the latest imaging technology available today. Offsite, we have a High Field MRI service at our Medical Imaging Center located at 475 Chase Parkway, Waterbury.  We have two new state-of-the-art CAT Scan units -- a 64 slice unit and a 16 slice unit – and a new Bone Density unit. Our department has a picture archive communication system (PACS), and also utilizes a filmless Computed Radiography system.

Education and License Requirements

All Radiographic Technologists employed at Saint Mary’s Hospital in the Imaging Services Department must have a valid current Radiographer License issued by the State of Connecticut and must also be Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). In addition, many Technologists possess advanced Certifications in other modalities such as CAT Scan, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound.
