Student Nurse Scholarships

2011 Nursing Scholarship winners

Annually funds raised from the Saint Mary's Hospital Foundation's will be pledged to health care scholarships.

The 2012 scholarships will be awarded for nursing education; four $2,500 scholarships for both two-year training and for four-year training will be given. The scholarships are open to residents of the Greater Waterbury area.

Saint Mary's Hospital staff and/or those wishing to become a member of the hospital staff are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must maintain a B average in both high school and their Nursing Program to qualify for a grant. There are no financial criteria.

Saint Mary's nursing scholarships are available to CT residents only who are enrolled in either two or four year RN Programs. To apply you will need the following:

New applications for the 2012 scholarship program are posted Jan. 9, 2012 with a closing date of March 23, 2012. In addition to the application available below the student must submit the following:

1. A Formal Sealed Transcript for both High School & all courses from your Nursing program through Dec. 2011.
2. 3 Letters of recommendation (may include Faculty, employer / Volunteer supervisor and clergy or other prominent members of the community.
3. Essay describing why you wish to become a Registered Nurse.

All documents must be mailed or delivered in 1 envelope by 4pm Fri. March 23, 2012.
