About Dr. Garsten
Joel J. Garsten, MD, FACP, FACG, AGAF is a graduate of Georgetown University Medical School. After completing an internship and residency in the Cornell University Program at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, he completed his fellowship in gastroenterology through the Yale-Affiliated GI Program at Waterbury Hospital, the Hospital of Saint Raphael and Yale- New Haven Hospital in New Haven.
Dr. Garsten is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians, a member of the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Liver Foundation, former President of the GI Section of the Connecticut State Medical Society, and an Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Internal Medicine, Yale University School of Medicine. He has been Principal Investigator for a number of research studies and been listed repeatedly in Who’s Who in America, Connecticut Magazine’s Top Docs and Best Doctors in America Northeast Edition.
