Dr. Dudrick is internationally acclaimed as a surgeon, educator, nutritionist and research investigator. He has co-authored over 600 scientific publications and has trained surgery residents for over forty years. He received the Jacobson Award for Innovation from the Board of Regents of the American College of Surgeons in recognition of his sentinel work in the development of total parenteral nutrition (TPN), and as a forefather of surgical nutrition. He is a broad-based general surgeon with interest in critically ill patients with complex and reoperative problems.

Dr. Palesty graduated from Bucknell University and attended St. George’s School of Medicine. He completed residency in general surgery at Saint Mary’s Hospital followed by a surgical oncology fellowship at Roswell Park Cancer Center. He specializes in cancer surgery with special interests in sarcoma, melanoma, and complex gastrointestinal malignancies. He is also an active research investigator who is organizing and directing cooperative clinical cancer trials on a national level.

   

Dr. Juan Sanchez

Juan A. Sanchez, MD, FACS
Chairman, Department of Surgery
Juan A. Sanchez, MD, FACS, is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon and Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Saint Mary’s Hospital. His particular expertise centers on video-assisted thoracic procedures and minimally-invasive surgical techniques.

Dr. Sanchez received his medical degree from the University of Florida. He completed residencies in general surgery at Georgetown University Medical Center and cardiothoracic surgery at Yale University School of Medicine. He was a post-doctoral research fellow in heart transplantation at Columbia University.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a member of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, the Society of University Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and holds memberships in many other professional organizations. He has authored and co-authored more than 110 scientific and professional publications and received numerous honors, which include being named to the lists of Best Doctors in America and Top Doctors in New York and Connecticut.
