Internal Medicine
Residency Program

Dr. Gregory K. Buller

Thank you for your interest in residency training in Internal Medicine at Saint Mary’s Hospital. Founded in 1907, Saint Mary’s has been affiliated with the Yale University School of Medicine as a teaching hospital for nearly 40 years. For more than 15 years, we have served as one of three hospitals for the Yale Primary Care Residency Program, and we remain one of three hospitals involved in the Yale Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program.

Virtually all of our faculty are Yale faculty members, and we are proud of our tradition of superior education, with several members having won multiple Yale residency teaching awards. In addition, Saint Mary’s has produced physicians of the highest caliber, including academic and clinical general internists, medical subspecialists, and both clinical and laboratory investigators. Our residents have been highly competitive candidates for fellowship positions across the country.

We recognize that our residents have a variety of career aspirations and thus we strive to provide flexibility in training options. These include international medicine, ambulatory-focused care and women’s health, as well as opportunities to be involved in a variety of clinical research projects. Our residents are offered elective opportunities at Yale New Haven Hospital.

In summary, the Saint Mary’s Residency Program in Internal Medicine produces outstanding internists with excellent clinical skills and the potential to develop research skills as well. If you have any questions, please feel to write or call me personally.

We appreciate your interest and look forward to receiving your application.
