David Pierpont Director of Medical Staff Development

WATERBURY (June 2, 2004) – David Pierpont has been appointed director of medical staff development at Saint Mary’s Hospital.

Mr. Pierpont’s primary responsibilities include the development of new programs and services such as an improved physician referral call center, the establishment of a physician relations management program, as well as implementation of physician recruitment programs to bring new medical specialists into the area, answering the healthcare needs of the Greater Waterbury community.

Mr. Pierpont comes to Saint Mary’s with 10 years of experience building and marketing healthcare recruitment agency platforms and teams. He previously served as senior vice president at CompHealth in Norwalk Conn., and most recently as vice president of permanent staffing at Onward Healthcare in Norwalk, Conn. At Onward, Mr. Pierpont was charged with building a healthcare recruitment division specializing in the placement of all physician specialties and allied and nurse management staff nationally. The company’s clients include more than 1,000 contracted hospitals in 48 states.

Mr. Pierpont previously served as manager of creative services for McLean Hunter Media and worked as a copywriter for Delfino Marketing. He holds a B.A. in English from Providence College.
He and his wife, Donna Lynn, live in Fairfield with their four children.
