WATERBURY, Conn. (April 3, 2007) – Saint Mary’s Hospital has named Gina Burrows, RN, MSN, APRN as Director of Patient Care for its Women and Infants Center and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. In this position, Burrows will work closely with Dr. Mark Albini, Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Dr. Madgy Galal, Neonatologist, and will additionally be responsible for Perinatology Services. For the past five years, Burrows has served as an evening shift supervisor at Saint Mary’s, a position that allowed her to develop an excellent working relationship with members of the hospital’s management team, staff, and medical staff. She has worked in a private practice as a Nurse Practitioner since 1998. She was supervisor of the Same Day Surgery Unit and Post Anesthesia Care Unit at Saint Mary’s from 1990 to 1998, and a staff nurse from 1986 to 1998. Saint Mary’s Hospital also recently promoted Ann M. Iannantuoni, RN, BSN, to Clinical Manager, Women and Infants Center. In this role, Iannantuoni will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department. Iannantuoni is a graduate of the University of Florida, where she earned her Bachelors in Nursing. She joined Saint Mary's Hospital as a staff nurse in 1991. For seven years, she was a staff nurse on one of the hospital’s medical-surgical units. For the past eight years, she has cared for antepartum and postpartum women, newborn infants and gynecological surgery patients in the Women & Infants Center. She also has been a preceptor for new staff and frequently the charge nurse.
