WATERBURY, Conn. (February 21, 2008) – The Saint Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary will present the third program in its “Enlightenment Series” for women on Thursday, March 27 at 6:30 p.m. featuring Dr. S. Mark Albini, Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Chief of Staff at Saint Mary’s, who will present “Perimenopause: What is happening to my body?”
Albini, who has 15 years of experience as an obstetrician, will define and explain the menopausal transition, outline the various treatment options – both medical and hormonal – and discuss the physical and emotional issues associated with perimenopause. Women who are in their 30s and 40s may feel they are too young for menopause, yet experience those telltale symptoms. We all know what’s coming: fatigue, irritability, hot flashes. But we don’t really know when or how. So grab your mother, your sister, your aunt or best friend and don’t miss this informal and informative event. This free program will be held in the auditorium of the Saint Mary’s Hospital Medical-Dental Conference Center. Free parking is available in the conference center garage on South Elm Street, directly across from Sacred Heart High School. To reserve a seat, please call Stefanie Falco, community relations coordinator, at (203) 709-6214. The fourth program in the Enlightenment Series will be held April 24 and focuses on women’s breast health. The year-long series concludes in June with the Auxiliary’s annual Membership Tea, featuring WTNH news anchor Ann Nyberg. | ||
