In 2006 and 2007, the Saint Mary’s Hospital Children’s and Family Health Center was selected as the beneficiary of the annual holiday book drive at Barnes and Noble in Waterbury. In 2007, the center also provided new books for 600 children ages six months to five years old by participating in the national literacy program Reach Out And Read.
