As a recognized leader in local emergency preparedness efforts, Saint Mary’s received $90,000 in grants and equipment from the Connecticut Department of Public Health and the Waterbury Fire Department in 2007. Hospital staff also dedicated 224 hours to working with other community organizations on emergency preparedness efforts, and are collaborating with Waterbury Hospital on a new emergency preparedness manual.
