This year’s 2009 “Top Docs” include seven section chiefs at Saint Mary’s Hospital: Dr. Joseph J. Bowen (oncology/hematology), Dr. John K. Conant (urology),
Dr. A. Aziz Richi (general surgery), Dr. Paolo Mapelli (gastroenterology), Dr. Diane L. Fountas (pediatrics), Dr. Robert S. Wetmore (orthopedic surgery), and Dr. Alan S. Waitze (neurosurgery), as well as Dr. Juan Sanchez, chairman, Department of Surgery. |
This month, Connecticut magazine released its list of “Top Doctors 2009,” which includes seven section chiefs and many members of the medical staff at Saint Mary’s Hospital. |
The magazine surveyed more than 2,000 Connecticut physicians, asking them to
recommend a colleague in internal medicine or one of five specialties to treat their loved ones. Their choices were combined with the names of “Top Docs” from the past three years to create this year’s list.
On behalf of the entire Saint Mary’s Hospital family, we congratulate the winners,
and extend our sincere appreciation to the more than 300 active attending physicians who provide outstanding care for our patients every day.
